Chairman of the Constitutional
Review Commission Joseph Warioba has said that the issue whether Zanzibar will
explore and extract gas and oil in 2014 after removing the matter form the new
constitution as a union matter is still pending because the commission is still
collecting views on the making of a new constitution.
The former premier was responding to
this paper's questions on gas and oil being removed from the Union list of
matters by 2014 as recently stated by the Isles Second Vice-President Seif Ali
Iddi.
The VP told a delegation of
investors from the Netherlands that his government was set to explore and
extract gas and oil in the next two years after the two items have been removed
from the union matters list.
However, Warioba cautioned that as
matters currently stood there had been no changes to the constitution, adding
that the process was still ongoing.
Endelea nayo..
