AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has received some encouraging news from the treatment table in the build-up toward this weekend's Serie A match at home against Atalanta as Kevin-Prince Boateng has resumed regular training.

The attacking midfielder fractured his hand earlier this month and was expected to be out of action for up to three weeks after he underwent surgery on the injury.

Nevertheless, his recovery is ahead of schedule as Boateng has already resumed squad training, and he could consequently make his comeback in Saturday's match against the Bergamo side.

The 25-year-old midfielder has featured in both of the Rossoneri's Serie A games this season, without finding the net.

Milan currently sits joint seventh in the league table with three points from two matches.
